Successful New Residents Night
New residents from far and wide mixed, mingled and made friends at Old Dubbo Gaol on Friday 25 November. People from countries as far a field as Ireland, Iraq, Egypt and Sri Lanka received an official welcome from Mayor Mathew Dickerson and children were entertained by a 'cranky' prison warden. Draft City Events Strategy - Feedback invited
Dubbo will be better positioned as an ‘event and conference’ destination with the introduction of a city events strategy – now on public exhibition.
The draft Dubbo City Events Strategy was developed under the guidance of a community-based working party which included representatives from industry, government and community. For more information click here

Flying the flag for Dubbo
December saw the launch of the Flag campaign. Flags have been installed in Macquarie Street bringing colour, vibrance and energy to the City’s CBD. Exciting new opportunities will unfold for business to “fly the flag” for Dubbo. Click here for more information.

Dubbo TV Campaign
Tourism TVC
Targetting the Orana and far west regions, the 15 second TVC aired in the weeks leading up to the Spring and Autumn 2011 school holidays. Old Dubbo Gaol partnered production. The Branch is currently working on a TVC that will leverage off the marketing activities of Taronga Western Plains Zoo. It is scheduled to go to air in the lead-up to the Spring 2012 school holidays and into the Hunter and Illawarra regions. Watch now
Retail TVC
Partnered by Centro and Orana Mall Shopping Centres a 30 second TVC aired in the weeks leading up to 30 June 2011. The TVC will air again in late November in readiness for the Christmas trading period. Watch now
